Judi Wilcox, RD, CDE

Fit4D Nutrition Coach

Judi Wilcox, a Certified Diabetes Educator and licensed nutritionist, was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated Cum Laude from University of New Mexico. After practicing as a nutritionist in private practice she worked in print and media as a food stylist.

When she moved to Hollywood, FL she became a Certified Diabetes Educator. Her passion for Diabetes Education comes from her experience as a caregiver for both of her parents that developed complications from diabetes and wanting to prevent and improve outcomes for people living with Diabetes. Her experience includes 25 years as a nutritionist and fifteen years as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She was nicknamed the Minister of Diabetes by her patients for her passion and motivation to provide diabetes education.

As a member of the Florida Alliance for Diabetes Prevention she is active in developing community diabetes education programs. She is currently a Lead Educator for Diabetic an empowerment program for women living with diabetes. She is featured on Diva Live Talk Radio as one the Charley’s Angels of Outreach and helps with tips and recommendations about living with Diabetes. Her experiences include Chronic Wellness Program Development and community events for Community based Diabetes Programs. She has worked on talk radio shows promoting healthy living and as a guest on the McNeil Lehrer Nightly New Report on Public Television to increase awareness about childhood obesity and diabetes. Sailing with Holland America Cruise Lines she has provided diabetes education to crew members and officers at sea.

Currently she is working as a Diabetes Nutrition Specialist at the Diabetes and Nutrition Center of Memorial Regional Hospital, an accredited diabetes education program in Hollywood, Fl. She was elected to be Ex-Officio Member and Board Liaison on the Board of Directors for the (AADE) American Association of Diabetes Educators in 2011. She is the past- President and leader for (SFADE) South Florida Association of Diabetes Educators. She has planned and organized many events in South Florida to promote diabetes education for professional and community audiences. She has appeared on local news and radio stations as an expert in the field of diabetes.

Her knowledge and experiences have helped to motivate people living with diabetes to improve their lives through her contributions and dedication. Living an example of being healthy, Judi enjoys walking, running and kayaking. Joy and a positive attitude drive her passion to help others. She is an active member of her community and has volunteered for many community events to promote Diabetes Awareness.
